Carseldine Village Bushland Series

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ), is partnering with Ecosystem Restoration Specialist “Habitat Matt” Keys to rehabilitate more than five hectares of the bushland at Carseldine Village to create a Sanctuary for wildlife. Here he explains some of the works undertaken to deliver The Sanctuary at Carseldine Village.

Ep. 1 - Overview The Sanctuary, Cabbage Tree Creek Bushland, at Carseldine Village is an 18-hectare forest serving as a riparian (creek) corridor for Cabbage Tree Creek.
Ep. 2 - Bushland reconstruction Identified parts within the five hectares of bushland in The Sanctuary, Cabbage Tree Creek Bushland, at Carseldine Village has been reconstructed.
Ep. 3 - Vegetation Part 1 Over 20,000 new native trees, plants and shrubs are being planted (including 5,000 native trees and 15,000 native plants and shrubs) in The Sanctuary.
Ep. 4 - Vegetation Part 2 Over 26 species of native plants and shrubs have been planted in The Sanctuary.
Ep. 5 - Nesting boxes 228 fauna nesting boxes have been installed in The Sanctuary.
Ep. 6 - Stormwater drainage A sophisticated stormwater management system was installed around The Green and The Sanctuary.
Ep. 7 - Bushland maintenance A two and a half year bushland maintenance period from July 2021 has commenced for The Sanctuary, Cabbage Tree Creek Bushland, at Carseldine Village.

Gainsborough Greens Environmental Series

16 years ago Mirvac teamed up with Environment Masterplanner Matt Keys to deliver our vision of creating a residential community and surrounding it with a Wildlife Sanctuary. In this series, Matt goes behind the scenes to explain the environmental initiatives we undertook and the ecological significance of the Gainsborough Greens wildlife sanctuary we created at Pimpama.
